NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Veteran indie recording artist, Charles Parker (CMP Records, Baltimore, MD), is slated to release his fifth single, titled "Story Of Our Lives,"* via all digital retail outlets and streaming platforms (Amazon/Apple Music/iTunes/ Pandora/Spotify/Tidal) on Friday, February 26, 2021. Music enthusiasts can take advantage of the Pre-sale Event TODAY via Apple, Spotify and Amazon.

Co-produced alongside Frank Starchak, the original tune lends an abstract insight to the intricacies of relationships young, old, budding or fading. Parker infuses motifs into the storyline to consummate a deeper meaning; while "finger snaps" represent the "time" it takes to harvest a new romance, or see beyond the cloud of a love lost. Pulsed acoustic and electric guitar, 80s-inspired drums and modern bass enliven the dark, smoky tones.

"I know that I’m always wasting time
Today Tomorrow Whenever
You are the one that I’d hope to find
I’ll have you and hold you forever
So many times I thought that you might
stay another round or two
So many answers that you are requesting
My times too precious for you
And how I long to know what you would say
to make our wish come true
What’s in the past has gone away but only just for you"

"Relationships come with trials and tribulations, desires and expectations and, sometimes, feelings unreciprocated," said Charles Parker. "When I wrote this song, my thoughts meandered; probably because relationships aren't always black and white. The lyrics and storyline became a bit abstract. Most listeners will have a different interpretation depending upon on where they are in their relationship."

The new single ("Story Of Our Lives") follows the momentums generated by Parker’s acclaimed, and most recent release, "When Jesus Calls," and a series of tunes including "Love Is Us" and "Say Goodbye," which ranked #73 and #86 on the charts, respectively. Parker also released the title track from his debut album BRING BACK THE SUN which became the first of the artist’s discography to enjoy radio chart activity (MusicRow Country Music Breakout Chart).

Ed Gertler/Digital Retail Services will spearhead the digital retail and streaming campaign.

Music Mecca

December 4, 2019

Regardless of musical style, Charles Parker has lived something of the dream of most musicians: to make a living off of music, and not have to worry about a Plan B, or a fall-back gig.
Parker started off juggling multiple cover and tribute rock bands in the 80s and beyond, and essentially never looked back. Being born and bred in Charm City, Parker didn’t have the luxury of having an especially accepting culture around him for new, original music. But in the past handful of years, Parker has been able to work and record in Nashville, and weave his own music in the fabric of Music City.
